John
Jefferson is a graduate of Miami
University in Oxford, Ohio. He received a
Bachelor of Science in Business, Marketing Major,
1968 and a Masters of Business Administration,
Marketing Major, 1969.
He
began his professional career with the Carling
Brewing Company, (Cleveland, Ohio) in 1970 as
the Point-of-Sale Projects Manager for the
brewery. Mr. Jefferson was responsible for design
and production of display signage and merchandising
materials for the following Carling brands: Black
Label Beer, Red Cap Ale, Heidleburg, Heidleburg
Light Pilsner and Stag Beer.

In
1971 Mr. Jefferson joined Wyse Advertising
in Cleveland, Ohio as an Account Executive.
Account assignments included: The J.M. Smucker
Company, Alside Aluminum, National City Bank, Thank
You Brand Pudding and Pie Filling and Akron
Cablevision.
In
1973 Mr. Jefferson became the Marketing Research
Manager for Wyse Advertising. Over the next
five years he held the positions of Director of
Marketing Research and Director of Marketing
Planning and Research. These positions offered
Mr. Jefferson the opportunity to be involved in the
marketing and advertising planning for all Wyse
Advertising clients in both the Cleveland and New
York offices. The clients that Mr. Jefferson
serviced were: The Joseph E. Seagram Company,
Clairol, American Express Travel Service, Revlon,
The J.M. Smucker Company, Stouffer Hotels and
Restaurants, The Higbee Company, Scripps-Howard
Broadcasting, Manners Big Boy Restaurants,
Sugardale Foods, The Lawson Milk Company, Cole
National, Tappan Appliances, Climalene Company
(Bowlene, Linco Beach), Mid-Continent Telephone and
The New York Yankees.
In
1978 Mr. Jefferson returned to account service
work. He was responsible for planning, development
and execution of marketing and advertising programs
as the Account Supervisor for the following
Wyse Advertising clients:
The
Sherwin-Williams Company (Super KemTone, Martin
Senour and Williamsburg Paints), Consolidated
Natural Gas (The East Ohio Gas Company, Peoples
Gas-Pittsburgh, West Ohio Gas, Hope Gas, River
Gas), Preview Subscription Television (Division of
Time, Inc.), The Cleveland Press, Fisher Foods
(Fazio's Supermarkets), The Stroh Brewery Company
(Goebel Beer, Piels Beer), Stanadyne, Inc. (Moen
Faucets), Woodhill-Permatex (Super Glue), General
Electric Lighting Business Group, WKYC-TV (NBC
owned and operated television station), First
National Supermarkets (Finast, Pick-n-Pay, Edward's
Food Warehouse).
In
1986 John Jefferson & Associates was
selected by the Stroh Brewery Company to develop
advertising creative materials for a new product
introduction, Shaeffer Draft Style Beer.
In
1987 Mr. Jefferson joined FitzSimons Advertising
and Public Relations as Vice President,
Director of Client Services responsible for the
management of the advertising division of the
agency. Key agency clients included: McDonald &
Company Securities, Nationwide Insurance, Parker
Hannifin, Mitsui & Co., The Ohio Motorists
Association, The Council of Smaller Enterprises
(COSE), Landmark Office Towers and Expressline -
Groceries-to-Go.
In
1990 Mr. Jefferson founded Jefferson Marketing
Associates which later became Jefferson
& McKillop Inc., when Cindy McKillop joined
the agency. In 1996, Ms. McKillop made the decision
to leave the agency, and Mr. Jefferson decided to
continue the successful tradition of Jefferson
& McKillop under the new identity, Jefferson
& Associates, Inc.
Mr.
Jefferson offers over thirty-five years experience
in strategic planning for both consumer and
business-to-business products and services to the
clients of Jefferson & Associates,
Inc.
Mr.
Jefferson is currently a board member and 1st Vice
President of BAYarts, a visual arts and arts
education organization in Bay Village, Ohio. He is
a past President of the Board of Trustees of
Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, Ohio;
and has served as the Chairman of the Marketing and
Nominating Committees, and a member of the Play
Selection Committee. He is a past board member of
the Greater Cleveland Restaurant Association
and the Cleveland Association of
Broadcasters.
Mr.
Jefferson and his wife Mary Kay, a retired fifth
grade teacher, reside in Westlake, Ohio.
Their
son John graduated in May 2001 from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York with
Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Building
Science degrees. He is currently employed as an
architect with Sandvick Architects of Cleveland,
Ohio. Their daughter Jill is a graduate of Skidmore
College in Saratoga Springs, New York and holds a
master's degree in Theatre Management from Columbia
University in New York City. She is currently
marketing manager of New York City
Ballet.

Mr. Becker holds
undergraduate and graduate degrees in journalism from The
Ohio State University.
From 1967 to 1968 he
served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Haryana, India
working with government engineers to improve the flow of
irrigation water from tubewells on the northern
Indo-Gangetic plains.
In 1970 he spent six
months covering news in Israel as an accredited
journalist as part of the International Journalism
Internship Program that was sponsored by the Graduate School
of Journalism of The Ohio State University.
He represented the
American Council of Young Political Leaders in a
delegation to then-East and West Germany in 1982. He is an
alumnus of the Leadership Cincinnati
Program.
In December, 1993, as
a guest of Mayor Mi Feng Jun, he was invited to the city of
Changchun, in Jilin Province, The People's Republic of
China, where he opened discussions on joint business
opportunities, an endeavor he is currently
pursuing.
Becker wrote and
edited for UNITED PRESS INTERNATIONAL, In Newark,
N.J., and New York, N.Y.; The New York Daily
News; and The Cincinnati Enquirer. He
was director of editorial resources and media relations for
Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores, Inc.
From his extensive
background in communications, he has developed contacts
among leading business and general-interest reporters,
editors, and television and radio news producers throughout
Ohio; he has conducted media tours and organized news
conferences in New York City and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Becker has
extensive experience in developing programs that enhance
client images within communities where they conduct
business, with particular focus on building relationships
with their customers, employees and stockholders;
publicizing new products and services to general-interest
consumer and trade-industry media; organizing local,
regional or national publicity tours for entrepreneurs and
senior corporate executives; organizing special events for
the media, including news conferences; advising clients
where to make corporate contributions; and writing and
producing marketing and sales brochures, press-kit
materials, by-lined articles in clients' names, and
newsletters.
Mr. Becker is a
regular columnist for Small Business News and
currently writing a book on successful selling techniques
for an authority on customer service and management
development.
Becker is chairman of
the Public Relations and Marketing Committee of the
Cleveland World Trade Association. He is chairman of
the Public Relations Committee of the Cleveland
Association of Broadcasters.
Denny
Hudock
Director of Graphic
Services
Denny Hudock is a
native Clevelander who brings over 35 years of
advertising print production experience to Jefferson
& Associates. Mr. Hudock's duties as Director of Graphic
Services include: supervision of print production projects,
traffic, production billing, and selection of vendors,
estimating projects, planning, budgeting and systems.
Hudock has been
head of print production at Lord, Sullivan Yoder,
Fahlgren Advertising, Hesselbart-Mitten/AROCOM, Malone, and
Wyse Advertising, handling such national accounts as
Sherwin-Williams, Bonne Belle, Smucker's, Valvoline,
Borg-Warner, General Tire, Borden's, Goodyear, and more. His
knowledge of print production, specialty advertising and
sourcing of services has made him an invaluable
resource.
Denny is a Past
President of the Graphic Arts Council of Cleveland and
was chairman of Printing Week. He has been involved in
Graphic Arts education, serving as a Senior Advisor to
the Graphic Arts Department at the Medina County Career
Center and as Chairman of the Advisory Council for
Graphics Management and Technology at Cuyahoga Community
College.
Known for his
expertise in printing techniques, Hudock has acted as a
Judge for the Printing Industries of America for
various state and national competitions rewarding
outstanding printers for their work.
He has been active in
producing award-winning printed materials for non-profit
organizations including American Red Cross, Alzheimer's
Association, American Cancer Society, and the Council for
The Rights of Abused Children, the Women's Center, and Beck
Center for the Performing Arts and other.
Mr. Hudock is directly
involved with client projects at Jefferson & Associates
from start to finish, making sure that the standards of
quality are met at each step of production. His experience
in print production has produced many National and Regional
awards.
