It's easy to register a Domain Name.
It's getting tough to get the name you want.

97% of the English dictionary has now been registered as a "dot.com." That's the bad news.
The good news is that there is more flexibility in what can be registered and how.

As a "commercial" Web site most companies will want to register as a ".com" But, you can also register as a ".org" or a ".net."

There are no restrictions on who may register as a ".org or a ".net." So, if your preferences are not available as a ".com," you might want to consider registering your domain name as a ".net" or ".org."
Your chances to secure a name are linked to it's uniqueness. If you combine two words into one (e.g. JeffersonAssociates) your chances of getting the domain name are much better.

There are no restrctions on the length of a domain name.

It used to be that you were resricted to 8 characters. That restriction was expanded to 24 characters, then 36 characters. There is no longer any restriction on the length of a domain name.

The most important thing is that it's something memorable.

Shorter is better, but memorable is the key.

Initial domain registration fee: $70 for two years.
